HKRG Visits Susan G. Komen of Knoxville, Featured Non-Profit for May 30th "Pink in the Rink" Season Opener

May 27, 2015 in Featured Non-Profits

A few of our Hard Knox Rollergirls recently visited Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Knoxville in action at their Mobile Mammography Unit. We were excited to get the opportunity to learn about the organization and the amazing work that they do to prevent the preventable, treat the treatable and put and end to breast cancer.

The Mobile Mammography Unit that we were able to visit is one of the programs sponsored by Komen. It drives to different locations within a 1.5 hour radius from Knoxville and is open 6 days a week. It provides mammography for patients with and without insurance.

75% of the funds raised by Susan G. Komen of Knoxville stay here in East Tennessee to provide services to clients. 25% goes to headquarters for research purposes.

You can get more information about Susan G. Komen of Knoxville on their website, or like them on Facebook to get regular updates about special events and volunteer opportunities.

Susan G. Komen of Knoxville will be the featured non-profit for the Hard Knox Rollergirls "Pink in the Rink" season opener on Saturday, May 30 at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum. They will be collecting donations and providing information about their work. Stop by their table by the entrance into the arena to talk to them, and wear pink to show your support.

Get your tickets for this Saturday's bout in our online store! Get more information about the sure-to-excite double header and invite your friends on our Facebook event page.
