Hey there friends and fans! Your favorite roller girls are back in action and we're training hard in preparation for our 2018 season. Have you ever been interested in joining our league and skating with us but weren't sure where to start? Well, here’s your chance!
Starting February 18th, we’re hosting a nine week Fresh Meat Boot Camp. During that time, we will teach you all the basic skills necessary to play roller derby, plus a little strategy and the rules. The cost is $50/person for the entire program. You’ll be required to have WFTDA insurance, which is $75 for the year, as well as provide your own skates and all protective gear: helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, wrist guards, and a mouth guard. Getting started isn’t cheap, but once you invest in your gear, you’ll be set for several years.
Between now and the boot camp, we're inviting all potential roller girls to come hang out and watch us practice (from Jan. 31st through Feb. 14th). Not sure what size skates you wear? Wondering where to buy your gear? Wanna know what kind of drills, footwork, and skills you’ll be learning? Come find out! We'll have Fresh Meat Cheat Sheets printed out with tons of juicy info, and we would love to answer any questions you may have. We practice on Sundays and Wednesdays from 7-9:30pm at the Tri County Roller Arena in Oliver Springs, TN. Show up about 20 minutes early if you wanna try on our gear before we get all sweaty, and you’re welcome to stay for however long you’d like. If you have any further questions, feel free to send an email to our training head, Jen Pinion, at training@hardknoxrollergirls.com.
Be sure to check out our Facebook and Instagram pages to keep up with all things Hard Knox, and we'd like to give a huge "Thank You" to all of our supporters! Our 2018 home season schedule will be posted soon! Stay tuned~
